 Feng Shui Emporium: MirrorsFeng Shui Mirror: The Bagua (sometimes BaKua) which contains a mirror in the Tai Chi, or center of it, with the eight trigrams of the Bagua is referred to as a Bagua mirror. It handles issues of both distance and emptiness, and is used to enhance the power of the bagua itself. It is hung out-of-doors only, with the exception of using a very small one over the inside of your back door to filter, extend and protect the chi which is exiting the house. There are several kinds of Bagua mirrors with different arrangements of the trigrams. The ones we offer here with the mirror in the center is the classic one that has been used to ward off danger and protect homes and places of business for many many years. This mirror is considered to be very powerful and is never to be used indoors. Each of the eight sides has a trigram, a series of three broken and/or unbroken lines that represent certain aspects of the I Ching, a 5,000 year old book created by Fu Hsi, that represents the process of creation and dissolution. Each trigram has great depth of meaning. Below you will find a brief explanation of each trigram. Starting at the top, with the three solid lines, and going clockwise: Chian ... represents metal - travel and timely help Tui.........represents metal - children & creativity Li...........represents fire - fame & reputation Chen.....represents wood - family and beginnings Kun.......represents earth - marriage and relationships Ken.......represents earth - knowledge and self-cultivation Kan.......represents water - career Sun.......represents wood - wealth & prosperity The center of the Bagua is the tai chi position, and contains the mirror. All together it creates an extremely powerful energetic. It is hung above a doorway to give protection from dangerous situations such as secret arrows, bad neighbors and those with unkind intentions. |
